Oil on Canvas – Golden Hour – 2015
Mystical Imaginings amidst sun rays peeping through trees, capturing fleeting moments of bright coppery/gold leaves. Golden Hour emerged whilst contemplating mystical and ancient legends set within forests. Painted to represent the golden hour shortly after sunrise and before sunset when the daylight is warmer, redder and softer. Whilst the landscape is empty of human or animal presence, the cascading gold coppery leaves are seen amidst the sun rays, peeping through the trees to allow a serene stillness. The red trees lean with outstretched branches are painted in deep Alizarin and reds echoing the glow of the golden hour when mystical creatures might be observing.
